Google Meet declares war on that sunny window behind you that's making you underexposed

Google Meet's camera software gets smarter.
Google unveiled a minor upgrade to Meet on Monday. The web camera will detect if a user is underexposed and will increase the brightness to enhance their visibility.

This is most common when there is a bright light behind you or a lamp. It can cause a "menacing silhouette of the dark" look you don't want to have during a meeting.

This feature is being slowly rolled out and is now available to all G Suite Basic and Google Workspace customers. It can be turned off by end users in Google Meet's settings.

Google recently made a lot of minor adjustments to Meet. These included making the Hand Raise feature visible and adding emoji reactions.
