Delta Air Lines has been serving the country since December 2006, and it is thrilled to continue its 15-year-old history connecting Johannesburg with more than 150 destinations in the United States.The Route will be operated by Deltas Flagship A350900Deltas return from Johannesburg will completely restore its African network. This includes flights to Accra, Ghana, Dakar, Senegal, Lagos, Nigeria, and Accra, Ghana. Johannesburg is the longest nonstop route of Delta. It will be operated on an emission-reducing Airbus A350 900 aircraft.Amy Martin, Delta's Managing Director of Network Planning, stated, "We are thrilled that Deltas restart between Johannesburg, South Africa, and the US is with Deltas flagship aircraft. This will offer customers an enhanced onboard experience wherever they sit." The aircraft is 25% fuel-efficient than the Boeing 777 it replaced, which helps reduce carbon emissions.Four cabin options are available on the A350-900neo, including Delta One Suites or Delta Premium Select. Onboard upgrades include large seatback screens, overhead bins, new content, and premium meals. Delta's menu features regional dishes like beef stew with Jollof rice, fried plantsains, and saut spinach in the Main Cabin, or Peri Peri Chicken in Delta One.Initially, the resumed route will operate three times a week with night-time departures. Travelers will be able to check in at their accommodation and recuperate from jet lag during the afternoon arrival time in Johannesburg. During the morning, Atlanta will offer many connecting flights to other destinations.Johanessburg Strengthens Deltas NetworkDelta's network in the United States will be strengthened by the nonstop flight between Johannesburg and Atlanta. With just one stop at Atlanta, Delta's largest hub, customers can travel to any of the 150+ US destinations.
