The self-service repair program is launching in Europe. Customers in Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Spain, Sweden, and the UK will be able to repair their own Apple products.

There is a drop-down menu in the top right to choose the correct country for the spare parts. With the launch of the service in the US earlier this year, customers will be able to rent tools to perform the repairs instead of having to purchase them, and receive discounts by sending in their replaced parts to Apple.

Customers can have many options for safe, reliable, and secure repairs.

There is no support for the recently-released iPhone 14 devices, but there are other devices that can be used for repairs. 200 individual parts and tools can be purchased at the same price as to the company's network of authorized repair providers.

If you return your replaced part, you'll get a £24.16 credit, which is less than the replacement battery part bundle's price. A display repair bundle for the same phone costs more and has a credit available for returning the part.

In April, Apple launched a program in the US that allows customers to repair their own devices. The company restricted the availability of genuine parts to authorized service providers before launching a program for independent repair shops.

It's important for people who don't live close to a properly equipped repair technician to be able to repair their own devices. Jeff Williams, Apple's chief operating officer, wants customers to have many options for safe, reliable, and secure repair. Self service repair in Europe will give customers direct access to genuine Apple parts, tools, and manuals.

Apple's press release still steers people towards using a professional service where possible, even though it will now be possible in several European countries. The company says that visiting a professional repair provider with certified technicians who use genuine Apple parts is the most reliable way to get a repair.

Apple has made it easier for customers to repair their own electronics. People looking to perform their own repairs will be able to get spare parts from iFixit.

There are early signs that Apple is making its phones more repairable as well as making it easier for normal people to access spare parts. iFixit reported that the redesign of the internal design of the phone made it the most repairable in years. It is a step in the right direction, but it is still far away from the easy access screws and modular components of a Fairphone.
