Miller and DiDio are teaming up on a new company called Frank Miller Presents, with DiDio serving as publisher and Miller pulling double duty as both creator and curator of comics that fit the style and mold he is well known for. In a statement, Miller stated that his new venture, which he is said to have been quietly building for months, will be a fertile ground for storytellers and new creations. If you're thinking that FMP will lead to the re-release of his back catalog, you're wrong: his previous work will remain with his respective publishers.
FMP's first pair will be two oldies, but goodies: a return to Sin City, the crime noir he first created in 1991 and later adapted into two films that he co-directed with Robert Rodriguez. Sin City 1858 is the title of the new comic that is set in the city's past. The sequel to his sci-fi samurai miniseries from 1983 is called Ronin Book Two and was created with colorist Lynn Varley and letterer John Costanza.
The two new works will be Ancient Enemies and Pandora. At this time, we don't know how much input Miller has on each of the books, and creative teams have not been revealed for any of them. The books will be released on physical and digital markets later this year.
