According to sources, the New Orleans Saints are going to make an aggressive push to sign free-agent safety Tyrann Mathieu after failing to land a safety in the draft.
The New Orleans native visited the Saints in April. He had a virtual visit with the Philadelphia Eagles but has yet to sign a contract.
The nine-year veteran was selected to the Pro Bowl for the second year in a row, as he was tied for fifth in the league with 13 picks over the last three seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Chiefs moved on from Mathieu when they signed the free agent to a three-year, $32 million contract.
The three-time Pro Bowl selection and two-time first team All-Pro has been selected in the third round of the 2013 draft by the Arizona Cardinals.
