According to Jeremy Fowler, the wide receiver still wants to be moved, even if it will take a long time.

Fowler gave the latest on the situation on Sunday.

"I guess Odell Beckham Jr. is out here breaking news, saying Deebo Samuel is going to the Patriots, I guess that was a joke. I never got the sense the Patriots were involved, that his price tag would be too rich. But right now, the teams who were involved or that inquired about Samuel addressed their needs at receiver in the draft. So this could be a long process. I'm told Deebo still is dug in, still wants to be traded, but knows this could drag out for a while."

Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network denied that Samuel was traded on Saturday.

San Francisco coach Kyle Shanahan said that nothing was close to what he thought was fair to the 49ers.

The best year of Samuel's career led him to request a trade last month. The wideout was named first-team All-Pro after he had 1,405 receiving yards and 361 rushing yards.

TheVersatility made him one of the most dangerous offensive players in the NFL, but the usage apparently was a major issue for Samuel.

Ian Rapoport reported that the receiver was upset with his carries out of the backfield.

Samuel is under contract for one more season, but he wants to play elsewhere in 2022.

Many teams solved their issues at wideout over the weekend.

The Philadelphia Eagles traded for A.J. Brown. The New York Jets, Atlanta Falcons, Tennessee Titans, and New Orleans Saints all took players in the first round.

The Green Bay Packers and Baltimore Ravens could still use help at the position, but it might be difficult to work out a trade with the draft completed. Future draft picks are more uncertain for teams not expected to have high picks.
