In April, there were new game announcements and release dates for titles. Kingdom Hearts and Rainbow Six will be coming to mobile in the future, as well as a brand-new augmented reality project with Peridot. The release date for the game was finally announced after four years.

I am not talking about Kingdom Hearts 4. While the internet was enamored with Sora's new art style and his lack of clown shoes, Square Enix also revealed a new mobile entry in the franchise. Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link will bring the series to mobile devices with 3D graphics and real-time combat, but little is known about its story other than it being completely new.

Other worlds like the Kingdom of Corona are also shown in the trailer for Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link. Players will be able to journey into the real world according to Square Enix.

There will be a closed alpha coming this year in limited regions. Square Enix didn't reveal a release date, so it's probably for the best. People have more time to make sense of the series and how it might fit into the new title.

Tom Clancy's Elite Squad did poorly on mobile and eventually shut down, but that hasn't deterred the company from its mobile efforts. The team is bringing Rainbow Six to both mobile devices. Like Rainbow Six Siege, Rainbow Six Mobile will be a competitive, tactical game. The Bank and Border maps from Siege will be included.

In short, accessible bursts, the team hopes that Rainbow Six Mobile will give players the opportunity to play the game they love, in short, accessible bursts, while also enabling millions of new players to get the R6 experience.

Rainbow Six Mobile will be holding upcoming closed technical tests that players can sign up for.

Peridot looks like Pokémon Go mixed with Tamagotchi

The augmented reality company is back with another adventure, this time in a brand-new game called Peridot. The developer seems to have learned a lot from Pokémon Go and has created a world with creatures that can be trained and bred. The 30-second trailer for it is pretty cute.

The game will allow players to pet, feed, and play with their peridots, which are completely unique due to a combination of hand-crafted assets and procedural-generation. New Archetypes can be created by being bred.

The developer could use a win with Peridot, considering how poorly some of their other titles have been.

After four years, a release date has been given for Diablo Immortal. The mobile spin-off will be available on June 2, 2022. There will be a PC version of the game and it will receive full cross-play and cross-progression support with the mobile versions.

It will be interesting to see how the controls translate in the PC version of the game. The team said in a post that they have gone the extra mile to preserve major elements of the famous control scheme so that you can slay monsters in the comfort of your own home chair.

I don't like isometric/pseudo-isometric games, but I might try it out on mobile just to see what's up.

Fans were not given a time frame as to when the update would launch. Considering that developer HoYoverse has been updating it regularly for over a year with significant content additions, it is understandable that they would need more time.

At this point, every franchise will come to mobile

I feel like I say this every month, but we are starting to see more and more franchise come to mobile. Regardless of whether you want it or not, the industry is moving in a certain direction. It is nice to see that the AAA franchises have made their way to the Android platform, instead of all the other shovelware we have seen.
