The sequel to the hit Fox series, That 70s Show, was ordered by the streaming service. The roles of Red and Kitty Foreman were reprised by Kurtwood Smith and Debby Jo Rupp. According to The Hollywood Reporter, five of the original cast members will return.
Topher Grace and Laura Prepon will reprise their roles as Eric Forman and his wife, Donna, as well as the parents of the new lead character. The real-life married couple will reprise their roles as Michael and Jackie. The deal to return as Fez has been closed. The performers will make guest appearances in the first season.
Danny Masterson will not return. Masterson played Hyde in the original series, but is facing trial on three counts of rape. When allegations against Masterson came to light, he left the series early.
The original series will remain in Point Place, Wisconsin, unlike the short-lived That 80s Show. After spending the summer with her grandparents, Red and Kitty, in 1995, she will make friends with a new generation of teens.
Mace Coronel plays Jay in the series, with other co-stars including Maxwell Acee Donovan, Reyn Doi, and Sam Morelos.
The show was created by Bonnie Turner, Terry Turner, and Lindsey Turner. The new series will be executive produced by the creators of That 70's Show. The premiere date is not set yet, but filming will begin later this year.
