The regional governor of the western Ukrainian city of Lviv said on Telegram that Hollywood actress and U.N. humanitarian Angelina Jolie made a surprise visit to the city on Saturday.

According to Maksym Kozytskyy, who is also a UNHCR Special Envoy for Refugees, Jolie came to speak with people who have found refuge in Lviv, including children who were injured in the missile strike on the Kram.

At least 52 people were killed and dozens more were wounded in an attack on a crowd of mostly women and children trying to flee a Russian offensive in eastern Ukraine.

She was moved by the stories the children told.

He said that she promised to come again after visiting a boarding school, talking with students and taking photos.
