Diamond Head State Monument on Oahu will require out-of-state visitors to make reservations starting May 12.
The Hawaii state Department of Land and Natural Resources said in a press release that Diamond Head is one of the most sought-after and visited attractions in Hawaii.
The trail to the summit of Diamond Head State Monument allows visitors to see panoramic views of the southern coastline. It averaged 3000 people per day before the Pandemic and had a record day of 6,000 visitors in December.
There is a parking fee of $10 and an entrance fee of $5. Reservations can be made up to 14 days in advance. Non-residents will not be allowed to enter without a reservation after May 12.
