  • The divorce demands of Heard were revealed in a letter submitted during the trial.

  • She was asked in a 2016 letter if she could stay in their apartments rent-free and a Range Rover to keep her out of the media spotlight.

  • Heard is accused of lying about being abused in an op-ed.

In exchange for keeping their divorce out of the media spotlight, Johnny Depp allowed Amber Heard to live rent-free in their apartments while he continued to pay the mortgage and utilities.

The letter was shown in court on Wednesday as evidence in the defamation trial.

The letter was sent from Heard's attorney to the lawyer for the actor, who was divorcing her. The letter was entered into evidence during the testimony.

The letter said that Heard hadn't publicly filed for a restraining order at the time, but that she was afraid of Johnny.

Heard's attorneys wrote that her desire to keep things private is one of the reasons she didn't personally serve Johnny at the premiere.

At the time of the couple's separation, Depp was promoting "Alice in Wonderland".

The letter concluded that they were hopeful that they could swiftly work out mutually acceptable short and long term solutions outside of the public eye.

Heard is accused of lying in a Washington Post op-ed about being the victim of domestic abuse. The Oscar-winning actor claims the column made him lose job opportunities and that he was the culprit.

Over the course of four days, he testified about their relationship and break-up.

Heard is expected to begin presenting her side of the case next week after denying the allegations of physical assault.

Edward White, the business manager for Johnny Depp, testified on Thursday that by the time the divorce was finalized, he was on the hook for more than 14 million dollars.

White testified that the amount included $7 million paid to Heard, as well as $500,000 for her lawyers, taxes, and all the bills for their joint assets.

Heard promised to split the $7 million between the two groups. An executive from the American Civil Liberties Union testified this week that the organization only received about a third of the money promised, and that half of it came from Musk, who dated Heard after she broke up with Johnny Depp.

  • Musk won't be testifying at the defamation trial, but he is getting a lot of air time this week. On Thursday, it was revealed that Musk most likely paid for part of Heard's donation to the America Civil Liberties Union. In the U.K.'s high court in 2020, she stated that she donated the settlement as promised. Neither organization received the full amount.
