Deebo Samuel was not traded during the first round of the NFL draft on Thursday night, but it was not for lack of trying by multiple teams.
Ian Rapoport said the New York Jets and Detroit Lions made trade offers for Samuel that were turned down by the San Francisco 49ers.
According to Rapoport, the Jets offered San Francisco a 10th overall pick and a swap of picks later in the draft.
After the 49ers turned down the offer, New York selected Ohio State wide receiver Garrett Wilson with the 10th pick.
Rapoport did not specify what the Lions offered Samuel. They had five picks in the first three rounds.
Detroit had a wide receiver in the draft. The team traded picks 32, 34 and 66 to the Vikings in exchange for the 12th pick.
There was a lot of activity involving wide receivers on Thursday. A.J. Brown was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles for two picks.
Brown received a four-year contract extension from the Eagles.
The Baltimore Ravens traded the 100th overall pick to the Arizona Cardinals for the 23rd pick.
Samuel, who requested a trade earlier this month, remains with the 49ers heading into the second round of the draft on Friday night. He has one year left on his contract.
