  • According to a new Counterpoint Research report, Samsung led the 5G Android smartphone market in February.
  • Galaxy devices occupied five spots in Counterpoint's top 10 list of best-selling 5G phones.
  • Samsung accounted for nearly a quarter of all 5G Android phone sales worldwide.

The budget lineup of the Galaxy A-series phones has shored up the mobile business in recent months, accounting for more than half of its sales in 2021, according to Counterpoint Research. The company dominated the 5G phone segment in February.

According to Counterpoint's latest Handset Model Sales Tracker report, the majority of global 5G smartphone sales were accounted for by the devices from South Korea. Counterpoint has a list of the best 5G devices.

The best-selling 5G phones in the world were not the best-selling 5G phones in the world. This model has been on this list for six months in a row, so it's not surprising that it achieved this achievement. It was selling very well in Western Europe.

The S22 Ultra 5G came in second place due to its performance in the United States and South Korea. In February, the flagship model accounted for two-thirds of total sales.

The rest of the spots are occupied by 5G models from Chinese manufacturers.

Counterpoint said that China's market drove the sales of these phones.

This is in line with the research firm's earlier report, which showed that 5G smartphone sales reached 51% globally in January, due in large part to increased 5G adoption by Chinese brands. As of January, China had an 84% penetration of 5G smartphone sales.

The report suggests that the next-gen cellular network standard has paid off for the company.

It is safe to assume that the new budget-friendly 5G phones from the company, such as the A53, A33, and A 73 models, will strengthen the company's position in this market in the near future.
