In the last quarter, Apple saw a year-over-year increase in shipments, while others saw steep declines.
Apple reported a record earnings for the March quarter with revenue of more than 97 billion dollars. Following the results, Strategy Analytics, Canalys, andIDC shared their reports of shipments for the last quarter. Apple was the only maker to have experienced growth in the last quarter, but all three reports differ in exact numbers and estimates.
According to Canalys, Apple saw growth of 8% compared to the same quarter last year, now taking up 18% of the total market share. In the last quarter, Apple's market share was still behind that of the Korean company. According to Strategy Analytics, the market share of other Android phone makers dropped by 29% and 30%.
Despite ongoing supply constraints, Apple said the iPhone grew over 5% in the last quarter, accounting for $50.6 billion. Apple CEO Tim Cook expects demand for the phone to continue. Apple has been dealing with supply chain issues caused by new restrictions in mainland China. The supply chain issues are expected to continue into the next quarter.
