The Eagles used a third-round pick and the 18th pick in the 2020 NFL draft to acquire A.J. Brown from the TennesseeTitans.

According to Ian Rapoport, the Eagles are going to sign Brown to a four-year contract extension worth $100 million.

In football, Brown caught 63 passes for 869 yards and five touchdown in 2021. He exceeded 1,000 receiving yards in each of his first two years, but it was a down season after that, though he did miss four games to injury last season.

Even if the big extensions of Davante Adams and Tyreek Hill made it unlikely that the TennesseeTitans would let him hit free agency next year, the Ole Miss product was still a key part of the offense.

The only other option would have been to trade him, and it was unlikely that he would be traded for the Super Bowl.

The Tennessee Titans are not shopping or taking calls on WR A.J. Brown, per sources. GM Jon Robinson made it clear at the owner's meeting they are currently working towards keeping Brown a Titan for the long term.
I'm told this has not changed.

Things change quickly in the National Football League, and the TennesseeTitans will be without Brown in the next season. Robert Woods, Ryan Tannehill, and Derrick Henry will lead the Tennessee offense, and the hope is that the new receiver can contribute right away.

The TennesseeTitans lost in the divisional round of the playoffs for the second year in a row. Tennessee has reached the playoffs in three straight seasons and four of the past five, and keeping a player like Brown for the long term would have helped that streak continue.

The Eagles will get the rewards of acquiring Brown, in yet another shocking move.
