In terms of units shipped, Macs are killing PCs. PC competitors saw double-digit drops in sales, while Apple's Mac sales grew 8% in the first quarter.

Very good Mac quarter. Second highest total Mac sales of all time (down from last sequential quarter) and an impressive 15% increase on year-over-year sales. pic.twitter.com/O3Cdazc1m5

Between the first quarter of 2021 and the same period in 2022, Apple saw sales grow, but the largest PC manufacturers dropped. HP had a crushing reduction in shipments, and a major 10% drop.
Counterpoint Research points out that there are a number of factors that can contribute to this, but the biggest culprits are rising inflation, the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, and continuing COVID-19 lockdowns in China. It's no surprise that PC manufacturers are seeing reduced sales because of the component shortage.
According to William Li of Counterpoint Research, the PC supply chain turned relatively conservative on shipment outlook in the middle of the first quarter of 2022, largely dragged by global inflation and regional conflict.
Apple is the exception. Compared to its competitors, Dell was able to squeeze out 1% growth in shipped units. Apple's 8% growth in the same time period doesn't hold a candle to that.
Apple's M1 Mac lineup is in demand right now. The release of the MacBook Pro last year and the Mac Studio a few months ago helped boost the company's numbers.
In the first quarter of 2022, computer sales fell 4.3% due to inflation and the chip shortage. Apple is doing well despite all the obstacles. Suppliers will often give Apple priority over other manufacturers, which might explain why Macs performed so well.
This isn't the only sector where Apple is winning. In the fourth quarter of the year, Apple outpaced the market and even beat the Korean company in units shipped.
Apple seems to be dominating everything it touches right now. The company's continued growth may be affected by the growing worker unrest in China.
