  • Ed White was Johnny Depp's business manager and testified at the actor's defamation trial.

  • The couple ran up a $160,000 bill with a wine merchant by the end of their marriage, according to White.

Ed White, the business manager for Johnny Depp, testified in court on Thursday that the actor and his wife spent $160,000 on wine by the end of their marriage.

Heard is being sued for $50 million by Johnny Depp, who claims that she ruined his career and reputation by insinuating that she had been the victim of domestic violence. Heard filed for divorce from Depp in 2016 after he was accused of physically abusing her.

White was asked about his role in the settlement of the couple's finances during their divorce.

One of the financial issues at stake in the divorce was the couple's outstanding bills, which included a $160,000 tab at Twenty Twenty Wine Merchants.

White testified that since the divorce, the tab at the wine company has almost been eliminated, though he still buys wine for himself.

White said that the man's wine bill has shrunk to virtually zero because he doesn't consume much in the way of wine.

White said Heard liked a bottle of $500 wine from Spanish winery Vega Sicilia. She ordered five bottles of wine and eight bottles of wine for Heard's 30th birthday party in April 2016 after a fight that led to their separation.

The alcohol and drug use of the two people has been a focal point of the trial. During drug and alcohol fueled rages, Heard claims that Depp would get violent. He claimed that Heard drank two bottles of wine a night and that she was the real abusive in their relationship. His personal wine bills were in the tens of thousands of dollars per month.

The business manager for the actor was grilled about his own spending.

Heard did not buy any of the properties that Depp owned, according to her lawyer.

She didn't buy a yacht that she couldn't afford and then have to sell it to someone else.
