Downloads and install counts are tracked by the App Store. Truth Social remained at the top of the App Store at press time.

Truth Social was released in February, while the iPhone app was launched more than a decade ago. It was estimated in early April that Truth Social had less than half a million active users, and that it had an estimated 217 million daily active users.

Truth Social has seen its share of pain points, from its slow launch to the poor response to its release.

Since the launch of Truth Social, Trump has made one post. During a rally in Ohio, the former President couldn't remember the name of the platform, so he called it "Truth Central" instead.

Musk may be indirectly lauding Truth Social's progress, but his moves in the market may be contributing to its decline. Digital World Acquisition, the special purpose acquisition company that intends to merge with Trump's Truth Social, continued to plummet on Monday, right after Musk bought Twitter.

The board of the company accepted the offer of $54.20 per share, or $44 billion, from Musk on Monday afternoon. There is an agreement between the billionaire and the social media company that lays out rules for both sides, and one of them is that Musk cannot insult the company.
