Tiger Woods arrived in Oklahoma on Thursday and is playing a practice round at Southern Hills Country Club, the site of the upcoming PGA Championship, according to sources.
After he was seriously injured in a car wreck outside Los Angeles in February of 2021, Woods followed a similar plan.
May 19-22 is the date of the PGA Championship. The last time Woods won the event was at Southern Hills.
Golf Digest reported that Woods practiced at Southern Hills.
The five-time major champion finished 47th at the Masters. He had his worst scores at Augusta National in the last two rounds.
After shooting 1-under 71 in the first round, Woods seemed to labor more in the last 54 holes. He admitted that he was in pain after walking 72 holes at one of the most demanding golf courses in the world.
After his final round at the Masters, Woods, 46, said he would play in The Open at St.
The J.P. McManus Pro-Am in Ireland will be played on July 4-5.
Woods said at the Masters that it would be just the big events. I'm looking forward to St. Andrew. That is something that is very close to my heart. The home of golf is where I have won two Opens. It is my favorite golf course in the world and I will be there for it. I don't know. I will try. I will try and get ready for Southern Hills and we will see what this body can do.
