Nadine Dorries: Chelsea must be sold within "weeks"

Nadine Dorries says that the club is on borrowed time over the sale.

There is only a short time left for that sale to take place.

The licence for the Blues from the UK government ends on May 31.

The licence was issued in March.

The sanctions still apply during the sale of the player, according to Dorries.

I will say that, at the moment, Chelsea is very much on borrowed time.

Dorries said that the club must be sold within weeks.

There are currently three bids on the table to buy the club.

The groups are headed by Sir Martin Broughton, Todd Boehly and Stephen Pagliuca.

The UK government is expected to issue a new licence to allow the sale of the club once a preferred buyer is identified.

There were reports on Thursday that bidders have been asked to offer an extra £500m for the club.

Any sale can only be approved by the bidder if they pass the owners and directors test.
