The new video of the Crew Dragon spaceship firing its engines to dock with the International Space Station looks like a remake of Steven Spielberg's Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

The clip shows a number of the Draco thrusters firing to adjust the capsule's attitude. The crew of four astronauts were to be delivered to the station by the capsule late on Wednesday. The space company has four operational crew rotation missions to the space station and six crewed missions into space.

Fully Autonomous

The onboard computer systems allow the craft to rendezvous with the station fully autonomously, while the touchscreens in the cabin display real time information.

Despite the six successful crewed mission into Earth, the company won't build any more Crew Dragon spaceships. The goal is to make new parts.

The capsule is a bigger and potentially revolutionary successor to be eyed by the company.

If they ever pull it off, it will be an even more spectacular sight to behold.
