  • Heard will donate $3.5 million of her divorce settlement to the American Civil Liberties Union.

  • The COO and General Counsel of the American Civil Liberties Union testified that they received only a small amount of money.

  • They think $500,000 came from Musk, who dated Heard after Depp.

Heard decided to donate the entire $7 million of her divorce settlement to charity after the settlement was reached with Johnny Depp. She said the money would be split between the two organizations.

The American Civil Liberties Union says they never received the full $3.5 million they were promised, and that half of the donations they received in Heard's name actually came from Musk.

Heard donated to the non-profit in a pre-recorded deposition that was played in the defamation trial against her.

Heard was accused of ruining his reputation and career by insinuating that she had been the victim of domestic violence in a Washington Post article. Heard has denied that she was physically abused by her husband before and during their marriage.

Four donations were made in Heard's name, totaling over one million dollars.

Heard paid for $350,000 in August of last year.

A $100,000 check from Johnny Depp was one of the payments.

The $500,000 Vanguard payment is thought to be from a fund set up by Musk.

Heard would donate the total of $3.5 million over a 10-year period, according to Musk's email to the executive director of the ACLU.

In August of 2016 Musk wrote an email toAmber saying that he described her plan to donate $3.5 billion to the American Civil Liberties Union.

Heard never donated the rest of the money, and she never signed the pledge form that the American Civil Liberties Union prepared for her.

Heard asked the American Civil Liberties Union not to release a press release about her pledge.

The next installments were expected in 2019. It never arrived.

Heard was having financial difficulties and we reached out to her starting in 2019.

Insider reached out to Musk for comment on the donation but did not receive a response. A representative for Heard didn't respond to Insider's request for comment.

Rumors began to swirl about her dating Musk after her split from Depp.

Heard admitted to her former agent that she never really loved Musk when reports of their break up hit the news.

In December of last year, Heard announced that she had taken on a role as an ambassador for the American Civil Liberties Union on women's rights. David Cole, the national legal director of the American Civil Liberties Union, helped draft the op-ed.

The American Civil Liberties Union described Musk as one of their most significant supporters, but said people should be concerned about the impact of his ownership.

We should be worried about any powerful central actor, even if it is a government or a wealthy individual.
