A new poll from The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research shows that more than half of Americans think that Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered Russian troops to commit war crimes.

More than 60 percent of Americans think war-related misinformation is a major problem, with those 60 and older more likely to think of it as an issue than younger people.

Democrats were more likely than Republicans to believe that Putin ordered Russian forces to commit war crimes, with 8% of Republicans saying the Russian leader has not done so, compared to 4% of Democrats.

More than half of Americans think that social media users are to blame for spreading misinformation related to the war.

Americans were less likely to blame the U.S. government for false information than they were to blame the Ukrainian government.
