The New York Giants, who own the fifth or seventh pick in the draft, have not been contacted by the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The report was provided by Aditi Kinkhabwala.

From what I was told by someone w/in the #Giants organization earlier today, the #Steelers have NOT called to inquire about the price for trading up tomorrow night… https://t.co/MKN1FIRiPN

The Giants have an extra pick because of a trade with the Bears.

There has been a lot of speculation about the possibility of Pittsburgh moving up in the draft to select a quarterback after Ben Roethlisberger retires.

In his mock draft, Chad Reuter has Pittsburgh moving up to No. 12 and grabbing the Minnesota Vikings pick and taking Matt Corral.

Alex Kozora wrote an in-depth piece about what a trade-up with the Giants or New York Jets could look like.

Peter King of NBC Sports reported in March that the Giants were likely to move one of their first-round picks for a Round 1 choice in 2023.

In February, the general manager said he would be open to moving up or down depending on the situation.

The New York Jets have a lot of holes on their roster that need to be addressed. Daniel Jones is the long-term answer at quarterback. It would be wise for the Giants to move down, get more draft capital and get more at-bats.

Picking up a first-round pick next year, which should feature a rich quarterback class, could be a big win.

A move up from No. 20 to No. 7 is a huge leap, and it might be too much for either team to make work. If the Giants move down a few spots and the Steelers jump outside the top 10, it would be a more realistic solution.

There are signs pointing against a Giants-Steelers trade at this time.
