  • I attended the festival for the first time this year.

  • It wasn't easy to get to, but guest appearances and production value were worth it.

  • I plan to go back but will spend more money next time to have a better experience.

I bought a travel package that included lodging and a shuttle to and from the venue.

My sister and I bought a hotel package that included a shuttle to and from the venue. One of the biggest pain points of the event is how to get to the festival grounds, and the fact that it included transportation was a huge motivator in deciding to go.

Her debut album has vaulted her to the top of the pop charts. One of the most enthusiastic sections of her fan base is the YouTube community. There is a good reason why people love her music so much: Her bedroom pop blends in with key aspects of ASMR to create a hyper-intimate music listening experience. We look at how the principles of ASMR can be used to craft a unique sound, and how this influence makes her into the industry's fastest-rising superstar.

The festival took place in Indio, about a 30-minute drive from the hotel. We were able to avoid additional car traffic by being dropped off in a shuttles-only parking lot, because we took an official shuttle.

It was easy to enter the festival grounds.

Even with the number of people coming in at the same time, entering the festival after the drop-off was easy. We were quickly scanned into the venue without having to stop and wait.

We entered the festival in the afternoon each day. When more well-known musicians were about to perform, the crowd grew a lot.

The shuttle lines for pick-up at the end of the night were organized by the fence that separated the hotel shuttles.

The shuttles were more reliable than waiting in the line at the airport, which could take up to 1.5 hours.

I waited for the shuttle for 20 minutes. The biggest problem I had with shuttles was at the end of the night. In order to be one of the first groups back to the hotels, I had to leave The Weeknd and Billie Eilish's performances a few songs before they were over. I wanted to make sure I could get back to the hotel by 2 a.m., so I missed the full set.

We went to the festival on a full stomach because the food was expensive.

Food like burgers, wraps, and rice bowls were available at a cost of up to $16 inside the venue. We ate Clif bars and filled up on a complimentary breakfast at our hotel during the 40-minute shuttle ride.

We drank a lot of water and were able to buy only one meal inside the venue because of the hot weather.

The surprise guest appearances were my favorite part of the weekend.

The guest appearances were the most exciting part of the weekend. A lot of the time the guest performed a song of their own at the performance.

When I saw Harry Styles on Friday night, he was joined on the stage by his friend, singer Shania Twain. The crowd was electric in those first few beats because we didn't know if Styles was playing a cover or not.

I saw a lot of surprises, including Khalid and Flume bringing out multiple singers from various songs including Tove lo, Beck, Kai, and others.

It was easy to get a good view.

We arrived at the stage about 30 minutes early. It was easy to find a spot we liked because there was already a big crowd.

I was surprised by the quality of the production.

The performers used the screens on the stage to show their performance. It was less necessary to get to a show too early because I could still see what was going on with the speakers and screens.

I thought the stages, cameras, and effects looked top quality when I watched elaborate music videos.

We were in the fourth row.

Many people arrive hours early for sets scheduled later in the day with general admission. The people in the front of the crowd were not necessarily there to see the artist perform.

I noticed that people got to the barricades for Harry Styles first thing in the morning, and also saw people trying to push forward for the next performance, Doja Cat.

The crane was used to travel deeper into the crowd for a few songs.

I thought it was possible to have a good view from almost anywhere in the crowd, but that was not the case. She used a crane to get into the middle of the crowd.

I missed some sets I was interested in seeing because bands played on all seven stages.

I was surprised by the amount of overlap between the bands I wanted to see. It was disappointing to not be able to watch full sets at the same time, but luckily, the stages were close together, so I never felt like I was missing out.

I thought the weather in Indio was crazy.

The weather in Indio changed from one extreme to the next. The temperature on Sunday was 92 degrees, but then dropped to 70 degrees at night.

During the hottest part of the day, I saw people looking for shade at art exhibits or under a sign.

The shade was offered by some stages.

Most of the stages had coverings. The two stages that were beside each other were in direct light.

At night, the temperatures became cold.

The temperature dropped at night and it got windy. Many people carried jackets with them throughout the day or rented lockers to keep extra clothes.

I wore a bandana and sunglasses to try to keep the dust out of my eyes after I bought a sweatshirt to use at night.

The walk back to the shuttles at the end of the night was very dusty and made me feel congested throughout the following days.

Next time, I will get a ticket for the added perks, because I had a fun weekend.

I bought general admission tickets for the weekend because I thought it would be worth the extra money in the future.

There is a separate viewing area that is closest to the stage that comes with the tickets. I would have had a prime spot if I had a guaranteed spot.

The music festival took a toll on my body. It was tiring to stand for hours in the crowd, and there were tables and chairs that were not common in the rest of the venue. This would have provided some much-needed rest.

I would definitely go back again.

I would definitely go again since it takes place in a desert, not a populated city, and there were a lot of moving parts to get to.

Being able to see so many incredible shows in a single weekend, not to mention all the surprise performances, as well as admission that included hotel and shuttle transportation, will keep me excited for future festivals.
