In a new video message, the commander of the 36th Separate Marine brigade of the naval forces of the armed forces of Ukraine, Sergei Volynsky, asks to apply the extraction. For 62 days we have been conducting combat operations in complete encirclement. There are more than 600 wounded guys in our group, they need medical help, there are no conditions, no treatments, no personnel who could help them. We help the injured civilians as much as we can. Hundreds of civilians, dozens of children, many people with disabilities and the elderly are with us. The situation is difficult, there are problems with water, and Volynsky appealed to world leaders and diplomats so that the defenders of Mariupol would be heard. In 1940, the military of Britain and France were surrounded by German troops and blockaded in the area of the city of Dunkirk. The troops that had accumulated on the coast were threatened with disaster, but Hitler ordered to stop the offensive and not to approach Dunkirk closer than 10 km. More than 300,000 French and British soldiers were evacuated. My main message is to save the Mariupol garrison. Apply the procedure to us. It is not 1940, it is 2022. People will die here. The wounded will die, and the living will die in battle, civilians die here with us in private houses and high-rise buildings, where they are simply shot, and the defenders of Mariupol hope for help. Ukrainian intelligence said that the Russian authorities were planning to storm the positions of the Ukrainian defenders at Azovstal. Ukrainian fighters reported that 35 airstrikes were carried out against Azovstal, and that civilians were injured. Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu said at a meeting with Putin that the invaders had taken control of Mariupol and Azovstal. The shelling of Azovstal only intensified after Putin said on camera that there was no need to storm the plant. Zelensky claims that the Ukrainian forces don't have the funds to carry out a military operation. The first part of a video from the cellars of the Azovstal plant in Mariupol was posted by the Azov Regiment on April 23, showing children hiding from Russian bombs. Azovstal released a new video on April 24. Women hiding with children in a shelter said that they had only a few days left of water and food.
