The Pistons want to sign Marvin to a long-term contract this summer.

The Pistons are hoping to sign Marvin Bagley to a three-year contract after he played well after a trade to Detroit.

In 18 games with the Pistons, he averaged 14.6 points and 6.8 boards. After getting a long-desired change of scenery, Bagley seemed more engaged on both ends of the floor.

The most fun I have had playing the game is in Detroit. Basketball is fun in the environment that I am used to. I have enjoyed my time here since I arrived.

The Pistons will be able to match any offer he gets if he is a restricted free agent. The scarcity of cap space around the NBA and the inconsistent play of Marvin Bagley have made it unlikely that Detroit will be blown out of the water.

The Pistons are in the middle of a rebuild so they can afford to be patient. He has the ability to be a solid rotation big if he can find some level of consistency.
