One firebrand ex-astronaut is once again assailing Russia, this time for the invasion of neighboring Ukraine, and this time he targeted the cosmonauts.
In a new interview with Newsweek, Scott Kelly, a former NASA Astronaut, berated Russia for the way it has treated its cosmonauts.
Kelly said that he was surprised to learn that the cosmonauts supported Russia's military incursion.
Most of the cosmonauts he'd spoken to are far down the rabbit hole, believing that this was a necessary action to prevent Nazis and NATO.
That part surprised me. I suppose you could say that some of them were misled and that they didn't believe what was happening.
Kelly admitted in March that NASA asked him to back off of his criticism of Russia, but that apparently hasn't stopped him.
Kelly insisted in the interview that he didn't hate all Russians, having lived and worked side-by-side with them for a full year.
He told Newsweek that some of the cosmonauts wish they could leave the country.
