The Chicago Bulls will be without two of their guards in Game 5 against the Milwaukee Bucks.

The Bulls were hoping that both guards would be able to play in Milwaukee, but they were not.

The series is tied at 2-2. The path to an unlikely comeback is more difficult without their starting backcourt available, as only 13 teams in NBA history have overcome a 3-1 deficit.

The health and safety protocols were entered by LaVine just before the team practiced Tuesday. It is the second time this season that he has landed in the league's protocols.

During the second half of Sunday's Game 4, Caruso entered the concussion protocol after getting hit in the face with an elbow from Jevon Carter. Caruso left the game with a bloody nose and began to experience concussion symptoms.

In four playoff games against the Bucks, LaVine is averaging 19.3 points, 5.3 rebound and 6.0 assists. In the series, Caruso is averaging 6.3 points, 4.3 assists and 1.3 steals, while serving as the team's defensive anchor.

The Bulls center said after practice that it was part of sports. You have to deal with it.

At no point did we feel sorry for ourselves. It is what it is. For those guys who want to be out there with us and compete, they have to miss time. It is unfortunate for them. We have to go out there and compete. It is an opportunity for someone else to do it.
