Text messages between the congressman and the White House Chief of Staff show that he pushed a number of conspiracy theories about the election.

According to CNN, a one-time House member who became President Donald Trump's chief of staff during the final year of his administration told the congressman to have US intelligence agencies investigate the voting machines.

The Director of National Intelligence needs to order the National Security Agency to immediately seize and begin looking for international communications related to Dominion, according to a text message from an Intel friend.

A source told CNN that there was no follow through on that request. According to reports, on the same day, the British government and the CIA were involved in manipulating US elections, and that Gina Haspel was part of a cover-up.

A month later, the two of them exchanged text messages that contained a link to a video that claimed Italian satellites had been involved in changing votes.

"Why can't we just work with the Italian government?" asked Perry.

In email communications released by the January 6 committee last summer, deputy acting Attorney General Richard Donoghue agreed with the assessment of the allegations as pure insanity.

The House Freedom Caucus is defined by their hardline conservative politics and loyalty to Trump. One of the founding members was a former chairman of the caucus.

CNN reported that as January 6 neared, Perry grew more frustrated.
