According to WCSC, witnesses reported multiple cars pulling into a parking lot and their occupants fighting before the gunfire broke out. The pitcher's father took the video. The police are investigating the incident and no injuries were reported.
In the video, you can hear around 50 gunshots and see kids running off screen and crouching on the ground. Parents are yelling to their children to get off the field and crawl to avoid gunfire. Vehicles were struck by bullets after the shooting ended.
Several youth baseball games were going on at the time. The incident tonight had nothing to do with the park, youth athletes, parents or coaches. Harve Jacobs of the North Charleston police said that there were no injuries.
America's youth has grown accustomed to mass shooting readiness since the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting 10 years ago. Those incidents where innocent lives can be lost more frequently are opposed to that.
The shooting in South Carolina will be far from an isolated occurrence because of America's loose gun laws. North Charleston Police planned to meet with city employees to come up with a safety plan for the city's youth.
