The popular Massachusetts vacation destination will soon be accessible from New York City by train.

The home of museums, hiking trails, and luxury hotels will be served by the weekend service between New York City's Penn Station and Massachusetts.

During the summer of 2022, the new route will operate. There will be a Friday afternoon departure from New York City and a Sunday afternoon return trip from Pittsfield. The train will stop in Albany, New York, one of the busiest stations in the state, according to the company.

The link will boost the economy of the region through tourism and allow us to base more remote workers in the area.

This pilot service will be used to determine the route's demand, which will run on tracks owned by the railroad company. If the service is popular, it could be continued in the future.

The bipartisan $1.2 trillion federal infrastructure bill gave $66 billion to Amtrak. The funding will support the existing lines and stations, update the trains, and expand the services into new cities and routes.
