On Monday, before the deal was announced, Truth Social was ranked 52nd and the download chart showed that it was in 39th place.

Downloads of Truth Social rose to 75,000 for the week of April 18 to 25, up 150% from the week before, according to data from Sensor Tower, a company that monitors mobile apps metrics and has tracked the launch of Trump's social media site.

Digital World Acquisition Corp.'s shares were up 3% to $36.81 Tuesday afternoon after plunging Monday morning when it was reported that Twitter would accept Musk's offer.

According to Sensor Tower, the Truth Social app has been downloaded over one million times since it was launched in February.

192 million. The number of times the mobile app was downloaded was down from 2020. The company has the lowest number of users on any of the major social media sites.

After he was banned from major platforms following the January 6 insurrection, Donald Trump said he would launch his own social networking site. The site was supposed to be fully operational by the end of March, but millions were stuck on the public wait list. The heads of technology and product development quit at DWAC, causing the company's shares to fall more than 10%. Downloads of Truth Social plummeted from the week of February 21 to the week of April 11 to 18 according to data from Sensor Tower. It's not clear if Musk's takeover of Twitter will cause more problems for Truth Social. Musk has questioned the company's moderation practices and suggested he might make changes, but Trump has proposed the site as a free speech alternative.

Trump's Truth Social SPAC was down more than 9% after reports of a deal with Musk.

Musk's $44 billion deal was accepted by Twitter.
