The Swiss Indoors will be where Roger will return to tournament tennis after a year away.
The 20-time Grand Slam champion has officially entered the tournament and will appear on the entry list with the protected ranking of 9.
His agent, Tony Godsick, confirmed the plan to The Associated Press.
According to the website, the first match there is scheduled for October 25.
The Swiss star hasn't played a match since he lost to Hurkacz in the Wimbledon quarterfinals. After the defeat, he had surgery to repair damage to his knee, the third time in a year.
At the All England Club, where he has won eight titles, he has a record eight. They are both tied for the second-most overall major tennis titles won by a man.
In an interview with a Swiss newspaper in November, he said that he wanted to see one last time, but he wasn't sure when he'd be able to play again at a high level.
In February, the two tennis players announced they were going to participate in the London event.
That would be the first time in over a year that he would be on the court for a tournament.
The Swiss Indoors trophy has been won 10 times. The tournament was called off in 2020 and 2021.
