"Dairy cows don't put up with what women put up with", sighs the CEO of Babyation, a St. Louis, Missouri-based company that is today launching a brand new solution for breast- The company has an all-in-one system that is focused on stealth. The solution comes in an all-in-one carrying bag that includes cooling packs, storage and stealth breast shields worn inside a bra. Even while out and about in the world, the setup can be controlled from an app.
The majority of women say that pumping is the worst part of breastfeeding. It doesn't take a lot of research to get confirmation that it's true, given that 95 percent of nursing mothers pump, and as someone who hasn't had to use a breast pump, it sounds pretty awful. You can change biology, though the milk has to come out somehow. If they can make it a loved process, they can at least do what they can to make sure it isn't hated.
We designed our product to maximize the amount of pumping. We have built-in storage after we minimize what is on the body. It's hard to overstate how helpful breast pumps are; a lot of them sell just a bottle and a pump, but you're left with a storage problem and the potential awkwardness of having to leave a bottle of milk in the office fridge. We put everything in one spot.
The innovation is that it is possible to wear the Wearables under your clothing and have a small tube run into the storage bag on the floor. A new technology that reflects nature is what makes the suction. There are 11 patents protecting the company's tech.
The device collapses on the nipple when we derive our suction. Babies suck. The FDA is allowing us to say that our suction mimics babies. The competition does things that no other product can do.
The breast pump and storage solution from Babyation means that mothers can have everything they need at a glance. It is obvious if something is missing from a storage slot. Babyation is an image.
In the industry, most lactation consultants will tell you that breast pumps can express as much milk as a baby, but the Babyation team has a trick up its shirt.
In testing, 100% of women got out as much milk with our pump as they usually do. Fifty percent of the time our pump got out more milk than a baby. The team is proud of the efficiency and angry that it has taken so long. I think we have solved this in a way that has never been done before. Our numbers are proving that it is game-changing. It is not rocket science to be discreet, quiet and smart. We didn't change the way milk is produced. The fact that women have had to live with these solutions for so long is madness to me.
The company's dedication to stealth meant moving the controls for the device to an app, rather than for users to fiddle around underneath their clothing. The app can control the pump and track inventory. It would be great if nursing mothers could know how much milk is in the fridge and freezer.
Babyation works for discretion. Babyation is an image credit.
An entire feeding app was built. If I have a caregivers, I can ask them to feed a specific bottle of milk, which will deplete my inventory. We track both breastfeeding and formula feeding. We tried to put a lot of thought into the app. Discretion is the north star.
The company told me that it has more than 4,500 people on the wait list for its product, which is good news for its launch today.
