The company knows how to sell sizzle, as they say in the meat-cooking business. The firm has struck deals with some of the biggest fast food chains in the US. Jack in the Box was added today.
The king of the late-night hamburger/taco combo is going to pilot a pair of robots. The company has a new drink machine, Sippy, and an old one, Flippy 2. There will be a further roll out in the months ahead if things go well, but it is still an extremely limited pilot.
Our back-of-house restaurant operations will benefit from this collaboration. Jack in the Box COO Tony Darden said that they are confident that this technology will be a good fit to support their growing business needs with intentions of having a positive impact on their operations.

The expansion of the deal with White Castle was already getting some nice adoption, but things have definitely accelerated during the Pandemic. Restaurant jobs were hard hit early on because of stay at home orders. Lower-wage jobs associated with fast food have been disproportionately impacted by the Staffing issue.
The products are currently not designed to replace human workers. They are designed to increase the number of human workers so staff can spend more time serving customers.
