The Federal Security Service, the Russian spy agency, has been mocked on social media after it was suspected that they staged an assassination plot on a Kremlin propagandist.

A video released over Telegram on Monday appeared to show a sting operation.

The video shows an individual being pinned down and held by Russian agents in an apartment, and the testimony of neo-Nazis who planned assassination attempts on Russian journalists.

The video shows the items the agents said they found in the apartment, including a stack of Ukrainian passports, a green wig, shirts with Nazi swastikas on them, and a photo of Hitler. Drugs, pistols, and other weapons were also found.

There were three copies of the popular Sims 3 video game that were shown in the video. The expansion packs for The Sims 3: Master Suite Stuff, The Sims 3: Outdoor Living Stuff, and The Sims 3: Seasons were laid out on a bed.

Some journalists speculated that there may have been confusion between the sims game and the sim cards, which are used in cellphones.

The games part of the Ukrainian neo-Nazi starter pack was jokingly called by Francis Scarr, a senior digital journalist with BBC Monitoring.

Sergej Sumlenny, a political scientist, pointed out that another still from the video showed a note that was not an actual signature.

The FSB got an order to sign it with a signature that was unclear, and did so.

An alternative version of the video, which showed the Sims games being blurred out, was later released on the official channel of the Federation.

The National Socialism/White Power group, a neo-Nazi organization that was supposedly planning to kill a journalist, was the reason for the arrests.

VOA News reported that Putin said that the West was planning to kill journalists.

They have turned to terror. To prepare for the murders of our journalists. Putin said that the curators of the Western secret services were from the CIA, and that they worked with the security agencies of Ukraine.

Apparently they give advice to kill journalists. He said that their attitude towards the rights of journalists and human rights in general was not good.

The makers of The Sims 3 and The Sims 4 did not respond to a request for comment from Insider.
