The billionaire investor Mark Cuban said he was very surprised by the sale, adding that Musk is on the clock.

The company asked its followers what they thought about the sale. Musk said in Monday's press release that he wanted to defeat the automated troll accounts and that the company would get rid of them on day one.

With Musk buying the company, there is a question of whether he will relocate the headquarters. There is a large presence of both The Boring Co. andTesla in Austin, Texas.

State governors weighed in. The governor of Texas, Greg Abbott, sent a message toelonmusk. It's time to bring the social network to Texas to join the other companies.
