Variable refresh rate is going to make the PS5's visuals even better. In a post on its website, Sony said that it would roll out Virtual Reality support for some of its games in the next few weeks. If users have a reliable internet connection and a compatible TV or PC monitor, the patches should automatically update supported games.

What is it that is so good about VRR? Hankx World describes how it makes it so that the console is the pace.

The game's visual output should be set as a setter. If the game isn't properly sync with the monitor, a visible frame drop or similar visual defect could appear. It won't work with the PS5 settings if the TV or PC monitor is the HDMI 2.1 version.

PlayStation 5 VRR instructions

Frame pacing issues and screen tearing are some of the visual artifacts that improve visual performance for PS5 games. The PS5 games feel better as scenes render smoothly, graphics look better, and input lag is reduced.

The PS3 didn't say when the patches would roll out. The below games are the only ones that have support for Virtual Reality so far, but others might be upgraded in the future. This week, support for the VRR will start.

The PS5 versions of these games will soon receive patches.

  • Astro’s Playroom
  • Call of Duty: Vanguard
  • Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War
  • Destiny 2
  • Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition
  • DIRT 5
  • Godfall
  • Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered
  • Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales
  • Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart
  • Resident Evil Village
  • Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands
  • Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege
  • Tribes of Midgard

PS4 owners can try to enable virtual reality for their games. The graphical quality of those games will be hit-or-miss. It could smoothen the experience or make it worse. The setting can be turned on and off depending on the outcome.
