After the team's trip to the Super Bowl, Higgins had a procedure on his left shoulder and was wearing a protective brace during his appearance at the Cincinnati Reds home opener. Taylor said that he expects Higgins to be out for a while.
He made a decision to get it fixed.
He missed the third and fourth games of the season because of a shoulder problem. He returned to play in all but one game for the Cincinnati team that rested most of its starters in the final game.
The second-round pick in the 2020 NFL draft is coming off his best season as a pro. He had 74 catches for 1,091 yards and six touchdown in 14 games. In the playoffs, he appeared in all four games. In the team's Super Bowl LVI loss to the Los Angeles Rams, Higgins had four catches for 100 yards and two touchdown.
The team will hold six voluntary organized team activities during the summer. Taylor said on Friday that Cincinnati won't have a mandatory mini camp.
