She became the youngest woman to win an Olympic snowboarding gold medal at the age of 17.

Kim will miss the season in order to compete for a third gold medal at Milano Cortina.

I just want to enjoy this moment, take it all in and then get back to it when I feel ready, said the American.

Kim needed a break from the spotlight.

She said that she didn't want to get back into it after such a fun year.

As of now, the plan is to win a third medal.

After winning her first Winter Olympics title, Kim took a year off to study anthropology.

She left her studies on hiatus when in-class tuition was halted due to the Covid-19 epidemic.
