A group of tourists visiting Los Angeles from northern California were kidnapped at gun point during a robbery in which police say suspects made off with $75,000 in stolen property.

The incident happened early in the morning. Four men left a restaurant in Beverly grove on their way back to the property they were renting on Coldwater Canyon Drive in Beverly Crest.

The victims told police that they passed the residence and made a U-turn because they thought they had dodged the SUV. After parking in the driveway and getting out of the car, they were confronted by three armed suspects and ordered to give up their jewelry.

Los Angeles Sheriff's Office was ordered to test all of their posse.

Police said that one of the suspects had a rifle and the other two had handguns.

Police have described the incident as a kidnapping because the suspects ordered the victims inside the residence at gunpoint. The four men were ordered to lay on the floor as the three suspects robbed the property.

The suspects made off with an estimated $75,000 worth of stolen property, which included cash, luxury watches and designer clothing and handbags, Fox 11 Los Angeles reported.

This one is alarming in that the victims were forced to go inside of a residence where they were taken from a place safer in front of the public. If we catch them, they would be sentenced to life in prison for kidnapping.

There were no serious injuries in the incident. The suspects were between the ages of 19 and 25. According to KABC, police don't think the incident is related to gangs.

It happened a week after the Los Angeles Police Department established a task force to combat gangs that are committing follow- home robberies and other attacks against wealthy residents to rob them of luxury goods.

It has become an alarming crime trend, according to Marsden.
