Our first look at what seems to be the Google Pixel Watch comes under strange circumstances: someone supposedly found its prototype lying around at a restaurant and sent pictures of it to Android Central on the condition of anonymity. The images of the purported device match up with what we've seen from previous leaks.

There is a crown between the two buttons on the side of the watch. The two buttons could be used to turn the watch on or off, return to the home screen, or even pull up recently used apps. There is a small hole next to the crown that could be a microphone or an altimeter sensor. The four pins on the side of the watch may be used for testing, but may not be on the final model.

The watch appears to have a physical crown sitting between two buttons.

There is a black frame on the underside of the watch that appears to have a health- tracking sensor in the center. The bottom of the watch looks metallic but feels like it is coated with glass, similar to the glass backing on the Apple Watch, according to a source.

The source of the watch wasn't able to fully boot up to see how the interface would look. After they tried turning it on, there was a white logo on the screen. The watch may be charged within its case, just like the Apple Watch and the Sense smartwatches, if a charge wasn't left with it. While there aren't any pictures of the strap attached to the watch, it looks like it comes with a propriety method for snapping in the straps, similar to the ones that come with the Fitbit line. You can see the entire leaked images on the site.

What appears to be a sensor is found on the underside of the watch.

The story behind the watch is almost more interesting than the watch itself. It's similar to the way the iPhone 4 was leaked back in 2010 when someone found a prototype in a restaurant, which was then purchased and torn down by Gizmodo. The prototype was left there by a software engineer, so it's clear that a situation like that can happen.

The case of lost and found is odd because it doesn't seem like a search is being done for the device. It is possible that this is a ruse by the company to get more publicity for its upcoming watch, as this is very reminiscent of the time a Pixel 3 was found in the back of a car.

There are many unanswered questions surrounding the discovery of the watch, but at least the features of the actual watch will be known. We already know that the device will be called the Pixel Watch, and we will find out more about it next month at the I/O.
