According to The Associated Press, the far-right Marine Le Pen will lose the presidential election in France.

Opinionway, Harris and Ifop projected that PresidentMacron would get between 57% and 58.5% of the vote.

If the final results are correct, he would be the first French president to be re-elected.

After the projections were made, Le Pen of the National Right party conceded to Macron. She said that the showing was a victory for her movement.

She said that the French showed a desire for a strong counterbalance against him, for an opposition that will continue to defend and protect them.

Le Pen was defeated by a wide 66.1% to 33.9% margin. Since that contest, she has sought to change her image and fight for support in many of the country's rural outposts that have been battered by economic changes over the last few decades.

Ahead of the second round of voting, which will take place on Sunday, Macron increased his operation.
