  • Donald Trump wanted the Capitol to be taken, according to a former federal prosecutor.

  • Glenn Kirschner's analysis was based on testimony given to Capitol riot investigators.

  • The testimony showed that Trump and Meadows plotted with Republican reps to overturn Biden's victory.

Donald Trump and his former White House Chief of Staff MarkMeadows wanted the Capitol to be taken on the day of the insurrection last year, according to a former federal prosecutor.

Donald Trump and others deprived the Capitol of the federal law enforcement forces it needed to defend itself, according to a video posted to YouTube on Friday.

That leads to one pretty compelling inference. We can call it the only reasonable conclusion, that Donald Trump and MarkMeadows wanted the Capitol to be taken, and that the angry mob stopped the certification of Joe Biden's win.

According to testimony given to the House panel tasked with investigating the Capitol riot, there was a plan to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.

According to testimony given to the committee by Cassidy Hutchinson, who served as an aide to Meadows, in December of 2020 Republican lawmakers called and met with Trump and his aides after he lost the presidential election.

In the deposition records, Hutchinson said that Gaetz, Jordan, and other Republican lawmakers met in person or in meetings to discuss ways to defeat Biden.

During these meetings, the Republican lawmakers explored ways to stall the certification of the election or delay the inauguration in order to assert that Mr. Trump had actually won.

The testimony sheds light on the intentions of Trump and Meadows. The testimony is definitely incriminating of Trump.

The testimony so far has been shocking. The testimony brought forth before the panel will really blow the roof off the House, according to Rep. Jamie Raskin of Maryland, who serves on the panel.
