Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that his country will prosecute companies that trade in Russian oil and gas.

In an interview with The Observer, Oleg Ustenko said that if companies are making war crimes, they will be sued.

Ustenko said the traders knew how much money was paid for oil at the port of destination.

He told The Observer that there were more urgent things to do in Ukraine and that they were watching them.

Ustenko said that Russia was making over a billion dollars a day from energy exports. He called for a global ban on Russian energy imports.

Zelenskyy said last week that European countries that buy Russian oil and gas are making money out of blood.

Russia is making more money from energy exports than before it invaded Ukraine. Russia is expected to make $321 billion from energy exports in 2022, up more than a third from the previous year.

Russian energy imports have been banned by the US. Germany, the largest importer of Russian energy in the Western world, is willing to stop all imports, but it will take time, according to the finance minister.
