Kevin Kiermaier hit a game-ending home run in the 10th to give the Rays a 3-2 victory over the Red Sox on Saturday night.

Bobby Dalbec opened the 10th with a triple, driving in the first run of the game for Boston. The sacrifice fly was followed by Christian Vzquez.

The no-hitter doesn't count as a no-hitter until the game is over and the team has no hits.

"You don't want to see that go to waste," he said. Both sides did. This is about as good a pitchers' duel as you can get, each team using six or seven arms. This is for you in 2022. Nothing is normal anymore.

The Boston pitcher struck out the first two batters in the bottom half. Randy Arozarena scored when Taylor Walls reached on a throwing error by the second baseman.

After Walls swiped second, Kiermaier drove Robles' 3-1 pitch deep to right for his first home run of the season.

This is the first time in baseball history that a team has lost a no-hit bid in extra frames and gone on to win in walk-off fashion. Two teams won a game in which their no-hit bid was broken up in extra frames, but they were both on the road, the 1995 Montreal Expos against the San Diego Padres and the 1904 Chicago Cubs against the New York Giants.

Boston had two hits. There were three in Tampa Bay.

It is a dream of mine. I want to hit a walk-off home run. I've never done it at this level, but I will never forget this moment. What a victory!

Brandon Lowe's leadoff double in the fourth was the only hit of the game, and Boston's only other hit came in the eighth off Kutter Crawford. Mike Zunino followed with a fly ball that was hauled in by Hern.

In his first major league start, the former Boston relief pitcher struck out seven in four pitches.

J.P. Feyereisen struck out two as the opener. Jeffrey Springs then pitched two frames. Ryan Thompson and Andrew Kittredge worked the eighth and ninth.

Boston bench coach Will Venable said that they know their work is cut out for them when they play these guys. They have a lot of great pitchers that can mix and match.

The home run was the first of the season for Kiermaier.

I hope that HR makes me click so I can make more of an offensive contribution, he said.
