The fans in the right-field bleachers threw bottles, cans and debris at the Cleveland outfielders after Isiah Kiner-Falefa and Gleyber Torres scored on their two-out hits in the ninth.

Rather than celebrate, Judge and his teammates rushed toward the wall in right-center field, trying to calm the crowd as security personnel joined the effort.

Kiner-Falefa hit a double off a 100 mph pitch from Clase, who was one strike away from preserving the Cleveland lead. A trainer came out to check on Steven after he ran hard into the wall chasing the ball.

Before the game resumed, Cleveland right fielder Oscar Mercado pointed at the stands and center fielder Myles Straw climbed the chain-link fence in left to confront a fan who made a derogatory gesture.

Terry Francona acknowledged that the Guardians were a little emotional at the end of the game, but he doesn't think people can throw stuff at our players on the field.

The game-winner was lined to right-center by Torres. Several fans threw objects at Mercado and Straw as they chased the ball.

"Obviously, there is no place for throwing stuff on the field in that situation," said Yankees manager Aaron Boone.

Yankees players ran to the basepaths to meet Torres and then ran to the outfielder spot to quell the commotion.

Kiner-Falefa, in his first season with the Yankees, said that he loved the atmosphere and the fans.

The Yankees won for the fourth time in five games and recorded their second walk-off win.

Green gave up a two-run home run to Austin Hedges in the eighth that gave Cleveland a 4-3 lead. The victory was picked up by Miguel Castro.

"We love the intensity, but obviously you can't throw stuff out on the field," he said.
