Finally, a story that doesn't involve Musk owning the website.
There was a rumor going around that the CEO of the electric car company turned down an opportunity to work with Bill Gates because he was angry with him. The Whole Mars Catalog account posted several pictures of a text exchange between Musk and Gates.
In the conversation, Gates was asked if he had a $500 million short stock position. Gates would benefit if the value of the stock falls, rather than the traditional method of putting money into a stock and hoping it succeeds. Gates confirms he does, brings up the possibility of the two doing philanthropic work together, and is immediately shut down by Musk, hoping the company fails.

The original post made it clear that the texts hadn't been confirmed, but Musk did the thing he does and hopped in himself. He said it was real, but he didn't leak it. The text exchange has not been confirmed byMashable.

What does this mean for you and me? It's not much, really. Musk is a little messy about an alleged conversation he had with a guy who is very wealthy. Rich people argue about this. It might be wise to think about the possibility that the texts are not real. You never know.
The biggest conclusion to be drawn is: Bill's green texts? Really? Come on, man.
