The decision to strip Disney of its self-governing status was slammed asboneheaded by a former Florida governor.

Charlie Crist, who served as Florida's governor from 2007 to 2011 as a Republican, criticized his opponent.

Attacking Disney, threatening to harm our state's economic powerhouse that creates so many jobs and brings in so many tourism dollars is a boneheaded move. Crist said on Friday that Ron was a threat to the economy of the state.

In an interview with the South Florida Sun-Sentinel on Thursday, Crist called the sitting governor an angry dude.

The governor wants to have a one-man rule of the state.

The bill was signed by the governor on Friday and will take effect in June 2023. Disney slammed Florida's controversial Parental Rights in Education legislation, dubbed by activists and critics as the "Don't Say Gay" bill.

The legislation for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transsexual community was signed into law by the governor on March 28. It would ban discussions of sexuality and gender identity in classrooms from kindergarten to third grade and would allow parents to file lawsuits if staff members facilitate those conversations.

Disney issued a statement on the day the bill was signed saying it should never have been signed into law.

On Thursday, Crist told the Sentinel that Disney was being punished.

They are being punished for disobeying the governor and supporting a law that was offensive to many in our state. Crist told the outlet that that is not serving with a servant's heart. That wants to be the king of Florida. He is not.

The new proposed map that would give the GOP an edge in the state at the expense of the Democrats is shifting attention from other items on the agenda, according to Gary Farmer, Florida's Senate Minority Leader.

The governor&s attack on Disney was designed to act as a smokescreen for the purpose of the special session, which was to pass a racist and unconstitutional plan.

Crist said that the plan would silence black and brown voices.
